Excited for this. The first one is one of Marvel's best movies, hopefully this one lives up to that.

One of Marvel's best movies... :D Good one Emmeth.

Hopefully this one doesn't turn another good comic book villain like Ronan into a joke.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Guardians of the Galaxy has been my favourite movie in the Marvel franchise (although Daredevil is my favourite if you include TV shows too). Definitely looking forward to this.

Also, Darker you talk as if it's an uncommon opinion. Guardians of the Galaxy was extremely well-received by critics and the general public.

The first movie wasn't really groundbreaking but it was such a fun movie that it doesn't really matter.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I don't care about any villain in particular I just want Marvel to finally have a decent villain.

I'm curious how this film will turn out anyway. The first was good but I feel like it's a one hit wonder kind of comedy.
If it's just going to re-use similar jokes and play out the same way it's not going to be any where near as fun. Like Ice Age.

But then if it suddenly takes a serious turn like Winter Soldier it won't have the same sort of charm so that could backfire also.

Flashy Thing!

The first movie was a pleasant surprise and what I'm really expecting out of this second movie is another great soundtrack!

I thought you already understood my point of view on these movies? I'm not mocking your opinion.

Yeah, you think I didn't notice how much people loved it? Just because a lot of people liked it that doesn't mean I did.

Anyway, Star-Lord's father has been confirmed for this movie, but he doesn't look like you'd expect.

A shame they're wasting such an epic character and turning him into Star-Lord's father. I wonder the kind of cheap jokes they'll make about him being what he is.

Yeah having never read the comics and heard of the dude...sounds trippy.

Or at least in reference to how the MCU has functioned thus far it's trippy considering we only just got what's said to be actual magic. Though the way it was presented was like a science.

Makes me wonder how he and Star Lord's mother got it on or even met. Or why Star Lord didn't come out looking like The Thing.

Excuse me for putting that image in your head.

Honestly, compared to the Dr Strange stuff, a living planet seems pretty normal. I mean big-chinned purple aliens wearing gold armor are already pretty hard to find in fiction, sooo...

I recently rewatched the first GotG film which is a first for me with any Marvel film to date. Great blockbuster. I have really high hopes for the sequel, even the trailer got a couple of laughs out of me.

Which is entirely subjective but anyway. :errm:

Hahaha nah, let's be reasonable, even in the subjective arts there are things which reach certain criteria to become objectively good. Like, for example, I don't like the Beatles, but am perfectly willing to admit that they must be great, given how they are regarded.

That's a bad example. You can't criticize music and movies in the same way, music is almost always completely subjective and a matter of opinion, there aren't many factors to consider in music.

In any movie, there are things that could be said to not be good. Yeah, I didn't like GotG, but that doesn't mean there weren't things I enjoyed. It's hardly the best Marvel movie for me, I didn't like the majority of it.
